Possibly the most famous drive in Ireland, the Ring of Kerry does not disappoint. It's not as remote feeling as the Ring of Beara, but we found the road in better condition. The views are spectacular and during the busy summer season, it is very popular. We toured Ireland in October so never had any problems with crowded conditions, not even on the Ring of Kerry.

Gorgeous scenery astounded us around every bend in the road, even in the cool, damp weather. The Irish wool cap that I purchased at the Blarney Castle gift shop helped keep me warm.

Here I'm hoping the surf doesn't sneak up behind me while the picture is taken. I know better than to turn my back on the sea.

A seaside farm with the iconic rock wall in the foreground. These serve as fences in this rocky countryside and are usually built dry, meaning without mortar.

The Ring of Kerry happens upon parts of the Killarney National Park. We stopped to hike up tothe  Torc Waterfall, which was running nicely.

Lovely woods with a lough or lake in the distance. Western Ireland and its coastline are not to be missed if you visit the green isle. We felt we just scratched the surface of Ireland and would love to visit again.
