As Brian and I worked our way up the coast of Portugal, our goal was to eventually end up in Galicia, Spain. I booked an Orbitur camping park in Caminha simply because we'd had good experience with these, and it was on the way to northwest Spain.
Little did we know that the town of Caminha is located on the Minho River, which forms the border here between Portugal and Spain. The river includes an estuary with a wide variety of birds. The first evening, we watched the local fisherman working in the bay. The next day, a Sunday, their boats were moored along the bank. We walked into town, explored the narrow streets, and admired the centuries old buildings. A beautiful stop at the northern edge of Portugal.
