Across the road from Thornbrook Barn Touring Caravan Site, where we stayed for two nights, lies the Country Harvest food hall, coffee shop, and gift shop.

The simple stone exterior houses a plethora of delicious and delightful items. We enjoyed stopping here on our last morning in this part of Yorkshire to wander and take in the colors, shapes, textures, smells, and tastes.

For its rural location, this shop seemed to carry anything local residents or travelers like us could possibly need or want in the way of provisions. We purchased a few goodies to round out supplies in our motorhome's kitchen.

When we discovered that they served pie in the coffee shop, we had to stop for some refreshment. After all, we had a big day ahead of us. Better get fueled up.

Brian perused the menu and decided on one of his favorites--lemon meringue pie. I went with the same selection and did not regret it one bit. We were both surprised that it was served with vanilla ice cream. A delicious variation and great way to start our day of exploring the Yorkshire Dales!
