Brian and I took a day trip by tour bus from Malaga, Spain to Gibraltar, United Kingdom. Where else can you order lunch in an English pub from a Spanish-speaking waitress, walk down Irish Town Street nowhere near Ireland, and learn that even the United States has had its influence?

A key highlight of the tour was St. Michael's Cave within the Rock of Gibraltar. After cautiously skirting the Barbary macaque apes near the entrance, we marveled at the stalactites, stalagmites, and other formations. Colored lighting made the cave all the more fascinating. Among other stops, we paused at the active Europa Point Lighthouse, located at the southeastern tip of the Rock between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. On the return to town, we stopped to soak in the view of the Bay of Gibraltar with the cable car in the foreground. A unique place and terrific way to spend the day!
