Located in the Pennines in Western Yorkshire, Haworth is famous for the Bronte family, as in Charlotte Bronte, author of Jane Eyre, Emily Bronte, who wrote Wuthering Heights, and Anne Bronte, author of Agnes Grey. Their father Patrick Bronte was the curate of Haworth; thus his entire family was housed at the parsonage.

The parsonage's kitchen.

Portrait of adult Bronte siblings:  Anne, Charlotte, and Emily (in no particular order), and their brother Branwell. There were two younger sisters who died at ages 10 and 11.

The parsonage's dining room where the sisters shared their writing with each other. Much of their creative work happened here in the evenings. They would take turns walking around the table and reading their latest pages for their siblings to critique.

The Bronte Parsonage Museum. The museum has an excellent book and gift shop where, of course, I had to buy a couple of Bronte books.

Most of the Bronte family is laid to rest here, at the cemetery on the parsonage grounds.

We had parked our motorhome a short distance away, which required walking along this picturesque path and through this ingenious gate. A peaceful way to reflect upon our visit to the Bronte Parsonage Museum.

To get from Crowden to Haworth, we drove along the Pennines, enjoying the rural and sometimes sweeping views of Western Yorkshire. Such a ruggedly beautiful landscape!
