Accessible by car or on foot, Omaha Beach still has remnants of the artificial harbor that was built to help deliver war materials for D-Day. The remainder of the pier is intact; we walked on it for a beach view above the water.

Car access brings you to the overlook of Omaha beach pictured above. Notice that the light blue flag commemorates the 75th anniversary of D-Day in 2019 when we visited (read it in reverse).

Omaha Beach can also be accessed on foot from the camping park that sits on the cliff above it. The trail is short and not too steep. Our motorhome was parked behind those in the left side of the photo above. Set back a good distance from the cliff's edge, we still felt the brunt of the wind.

Our motorhome, a Fiat Ducato McLouis, is parked on the far right next to the fence. The view of Omaha beach was panoramic, especially to the east (right). A small church was also visible over the field on the right. On our final morning here, a Sunday, we heard its bells ring. I left the laundry out to dry one night; the wind dried it while we slept.
