After our stay at Thornbrook Caravan Park in Ingleton, we drove through part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Such beautifully rugged country.

Sheep corralled by rock walls make for the quintessential Yorkshire countryside.

In order to experience a bit of the Dales, we took a circuitous route, heading northeast to the village of Hawes. Then we turned sharply to the west toward the village of Sedbergh.

The autumn season enhanced the appeal of the rural landscape. Sometimes the rock walls are located right along the edge of the road.

Occasionally, even the buildings are quite close to the edge of these country roads.

Time to pull over to take in the views and have a snack and hot beverage on a chilly day. One of the great advantages to traveling by motorhome is that you carry your kitchen with you. We ended up in the Lake District by evening, but what a beautiful day to wander the Yorkshire Dales.
